Singing for $2,000? Now THAT’s Entertainment!

Right in the thick of a cappella competition season comes a brand-new competition that will award the winning group a cash prize of $2,000!

Hosted by The Alexandria Harmonizers, DC’s premier show choir, the Now That’s Entertainment! a cappella competition will be held on Saturday, April 20th at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC.   The 5 groups chosen to compete will perform for a panel of judges and the large audience on hand, whom will choose the winner of the show.  The goal is simple: entertain the pants off of everyone in attendance!

Any types of groups are eligible: high school, collegiate, professional, across any genre, ranging from 4-100 singers!

And yes, we know what all of you collegiate groups are thinking – “But Brian, April 20th is the ICCA finals in New York!  Our group is going to win it all this year, so we can’t apply!”  Fear not, ICCAers.  For those of you that want to apply for this show, we are going to talk with the Harmonizers about extending the deadline until past the Quarterfinals (at least), that way, if you are looking for another opportunity to compete with your ICCA set, this would be a perfect opportunity.  More information on that later!

Interested groups should send 3-5 min audition videos to ken@kenrub.net.  The finalists will be chosen by a panel of Harmonizers members, and the lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned to the Embassy for more details on this exciting new competition right here in DC.  Best of luck to all groups who enter!
